Day 2: Stage directions for writing
Challenge: Get your students to become more intentional about their use of punctuation during a mini-lesson. Find a creative way to model how punctuation helps readers understand what to do — where to pause, stop, speed up, or express emotion. Be sure to collect the writing your students do after this particular mini-lesson so you can document how their use of punctuation was enhanced because of your teaching.
