Day 1: Expectations of Peer Conferences
Challenge: Use the rubric you co-created with your students and your knowledge of all the necessary elements students’ final products should contain to create guidelines or a checklist for the next published piece students will turn in. Take five to ten minutes to review the checklist with your students so you can clarify ambiguities.
Did the published writing your students turned in fare well when you graded it?
Were these pieces stronger or weaker than past student work in this genre?
How did guidelines help you clearly communicate your expectations to your students?
