Mini-Lessons Cycle 3: Making our Teaching Stick
Day 7: Remembering mini-lessons
Challenge: Determine a way to collect tracks of your teaching from mini-lessons to use as a reference during independent writing time. This could be as simple as noting the mini-lesson main ideas in your conference records and then referring to your notes while conferring, or as elaborate as developing a handbook for students to depend on while working independently.
What do you notice about your conferring as you become more intentional about remembering past teaching points?
After you’ve used your system for a few weeks, what is working well?
What needs to be refined?
