Day 1: Selecting meaningful mentor texts

Challenge: Talk with colleagues about books they’ve used successfully as mentor texts. Or scour the Kidlitosphere, which are book-related blogs authored by adults who work with children, for books you can introduce to your students for the purpose of teaching them to become better writers.
